Weirdest thing ever!
I’ve bought a new kitchen gadget……yeah, I can’t believe it either…..I try not to get sucked into “cool tools” for
the kitchen because it seems like you usually have something on hand that works just as well and is really
much more of a multi tasker!
Last week I bought a “spiralizer” and I used it for the first time last night to make the dish above.
It’s called
MEXICAN STREET CORN SWEET POTATOES WITH CREAMY CHIPOTLE-AVOCADO SAUCE
and I got the recipe from this blog INSPIRALIZED
Sweet potato noodles with a Mexican sauce……who knew something so odd could taste so delicious!!!
Weather here is glorious and I’ve been doing lots of walking but not much creating…..well, I take that back…
we had art group earlier this week and I made some sweet magnets……will post those soon!

Favorite House
I love to look at houses on the internet…..I mean, who doesn’t?!

Weekend Walk
Regardless of what we do on the weekends, Monday always comes knocking at the door, shoving us back
to work.
Thank goodness for the weekends! I spent mine walking through our National Cemetery and the regular
cemetery next to it.
There were some wonderful old tombstones covered with lichens….
This was the first one that caught my eye…..rather sad….a little girls grave who passed when
she was 5 years and 6 months.
I did find that the most beautiful headstones were usually from the 1800’s, back in the day
when people took time to do things by hand…..I can’t imagine these were cast…..perhaps they
were…..regardless, the older stones were the most beautiful.
I love the dove on top of this one.
Redbuds and crabapples are so beautiful…..odd to be walking among the dead in the spring.
I guess it reminds us that life goes on….renewal.

Spring has sprung!
Yay! Looks like spring is finally here!!!
The tulips and daffodils are blooming and I spent one of our
pretty weekends painting an old black bench a bright cheery red!
There have also been specials on asparagus….YAY! I love asparagus…..and green beans!!!
I whipped this up last night…..
Blanched green beans and asparagus sauteed in a red chili and orange zest infused oil, then topped with a
squeeze of fresh orange juice and chopped walnuts…..doesn’t get any fresher than that!

Gloomy Day
It’s been a gloomy Sunday here….perfect for staying indoors and working on the moose
pillow.
I think the dogs like it when I just sit and hook for extended periods of time.
We went out to a new restaurant for lunch today….
Good food, good vibe and such a happy staff!

Inspiration
I know, I know….
I haven’t taken any pictures of the rug in progress.
Honestly, it’s still in the back seat of my car.
Instead, I’m going to show you a few things that are
inspiring me right now.
Inspiration last night’s dinner….
Baked Parmesan Garlic Chicken Wings from
I’ve had never made these before, but they just sounded divine!!!
Plus, for this month I’m trying to cut back on sugar and processed carbs, so
this fits the bill.
Yes, that’s right…..bikini season is just around the corner and I’m headed to Florida in May!!
Gotta shake off all of that winter comfort food!
I must say, these were delicious!!! Mine were not as pretty as the picture, but I’ll definitely make
them again!
I’m also seeing some sort of whimsical dog rug in my future! Here are a few pieces of art work that
